Tarangire National Park Tanzania
Tarangire National Park is located in the Manyara Region of Tanzania and derived its name from the stunning Tarangire River that crosses the park hence a source of water to all wildlife animals which inhabit the vegetation terrain of the Park. The Park is the sixth largest of all the National Parks in Tanzania and is prominently known for the wildebeest migration especially in the dry season when herds of four hoofed animals traverse the Masai Mara and Serengeti Ecosystem. The Park covers an area of 2,850 square kilometers (1,100 square miles) inclusive of swamps, gigantic Ridges, River Valleys and Acacia Woodland which flooded grassland and Boabab Trees.
The Park also inhabits various other wildlife animals like the waterbuck, giraffe, dik dik, impala, eland, Grant’s gazelle, vervet monkey, banded mongoose, olive baboon, leopard, African Lion, Cheetah, caracal, Honey Badger, African Wild Dog etc. There are also numerous species of Birds that inhabit the Park i.e 550 birds.

Explore the Baobab Trees

Game Drives are also remarkable to do in the Park and these require you to transfer with a park ranger guide along various tracks watching wildlife animals wander around their natural vegetation habitat. On your Game Drives, watch wildlife animals like Elephant, Lions, Cape Buffaloes, Leopards as well as other wildlife animals like giraffes, zebras, baboons, antelope and Olive monkeys.
Bird watching
Tarangire National Park is perfect for bird watching so all birders from all over the world should visit the Park to watch many birds flying around their habitat. The Birds you watch here include; Yellow necked spurfowl, Northern white crowned shrike, White faced whistling duck, Red billed hornbill, Pygmy falcon, African marsh harrier, Woodland kingfisher, Black headed heron, Rufous-tailed weaver, Ashy starling and Yellow-collared Lovebird, Hoopoes, Hornbills, White-bellied Go-away-bird and Brown parrots.
