Arusha National Park Tanzania
Arusha National Park os located a few kilometers off Arusha Town with Mount Meru a famous volcano elevated at 4566 m North East of Tanzania. The park comprises of stunning terrain within three different regions i.e Meru Crater funnels the Jekukumia River; the peak of Mount Meru lying on its edge, Ngurdoto Crater in the Grassland in South-east. Mount Meru is the second highest peak in Tanzania after the popular Mountain Kilimanjaro in Tanzania which you view in the backdrop while here. Within the park are shallow alkaline Momella Lakes with stunning colors in the North East and many wading birds.
The Park occupies a a 300-kilometre axis on all famous National Park s in Tanzania i.e Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. The Wildlife animals you watch in the park include; giraffe, Cape buffalo, zebra, warthog, the black-and-white colobus monkey, the blue monkey, flamingo, elephant, lion etc as well as brilliant bird species which include; Narina trogon, bar-tailed trogon, starling species.
Accessibility to the Park
Arusha National Park can be accessed by road as you transfer some kilometers North East of Arusha and 25 km East of the main city to the Main Gate. From Moshi, you will transfer for a period of 58 kms and 35 kms from Kilimanjaro International Airport.
