Masai Mara Game Reserve Kenya
Masai Mara National Park is located in Narok County Kenya close to Serengeti National Park of Tanzania. The Park comprises of scrub, trees, Savannah and cloud Shadows in which the wildlife animals reside and these include; lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, wildebeest.
Masai mara game reserve was made more prominent due to the wildebeest migration where many wildlife animals especially those that four hoofed like the zebras, wildebeest etc traverse the Masai Mara Game Reserve to Serengeti Eco System annually in search for water and food. The park covers an area of 1,510 km2 (583 sq mi) South West of Kenya wear Serengeti National Park in the South, Masai pastoral ranches to the North, East and West. Two rivers drain the park i.e the Talek River and Mara River with wildlife animals like lion, leopard, African elephant, Cape buffalo and black rhinoceros.
What to Do in the Park
Game Drives
Game Drives are the most popular safari activity carried out in the park. Transfer from one place to another watching various wildlife animals wander around their natural habitat. These include zebras, lions, cheetah, buffalo, elands, small antelopes, Jackson’s hartebeest, warthogs, hyenas, waterbucks, etc. These are wonderful to view as you transfer within your 4×4 car fleet from one track to another.
Night Game Drives
Night Game Drives are also exceptional when on safari in Masai Mara National Park. These are done in company of a skilled park ranger who transfers you in a 4×4 vehicle watching nocturnal wildlife animals. Watch wildlife animals like lions, cheetah, civet cats etc in their natural vegetation habitat.
Nature Walks
Nature Walks in Masai Mara National Park are guided with a park ranger guide who informs you about the various wildlife animals as well as their vegetation habitat watching them wander around. These include; Elephants, Rhinos, Giraffes, zebras and birds.
Balloon Safaris
Ballon Safaris are exceptional in Masai Mara National Park as they give you an opportunity to watch wildlife animals from an Ariel view as you fly from one place to another in the Park. You watch wildlife animals like Elephants, Rhinos, Giraffes, zebras.
